Tonight I attended the OC Hobnob at Total Wine and More in Huntington Beach, CA. Thank you to Dr. Valerie Farino and the rest of the Berlin Wellness OC office for hosting such a fun and beneficial event. This event, along with many more in the future, has the intention of uniting childbirth professionals so that we are a stronger voice and can achieve more. We also have a lot of fun hanging out together:)

Workout

EMOM 10 minutes

Use a weight in which you have to think about it. Perhaps 50-70% of what your old one rep max may have been. If you are a beginner, then use a PVC pipe. Trust me, you will feel it.

4 Rounds

10 Alternating Pistols (or Carl Paoli’s Rolling pistol)

5 Strict Press

20m duck walk (down and back)

Modifications

  • Use any sort of modification that you feel comfortable using for pistols if you need to. I provided a link to Carl Paoli’s site because he offers a few variations there. If you need to  hold something (a weight) out front or hold a wall for balance, then by all means do so.
  • Strict press options are PVC, 33# or 45# bar, 65#, 75#, or 95#. Find what is comfortable for you. And, yes, start from a rack.
